Can email notification be sent to specific people based on the connection being synced?

Yes!

Make sure that your Global SMTP settings are configured (via the Global SMTP button in the upper right of the UnitySync UI). The Global SMTP Server and Reply Address are required.

Then configure a specific connection to send email notifications by completing the parameters on the Email Notify tab of your connection.
