Address Book Views (ABV) are part of Outlook, not Active Directory (AD). Therefore, UnitySync can not configure them directly.

Having UnitySync write to a specific container (or multiple containers using Levels) does not help since ABVs cannot filter on containers, only attributes.

The extent to which UnitySync can control the Outlook Address Book Views is by using custom mapping to set one or more attributes in the synced contacts. Then, Outlook Address Book View would filter based on these attributes/values to control what is displayed in specific Address Book Views. For example:

  • A source attribute can be used:
    extensionattribute1=^division^

  • Or the source container name can be used:
    extensionattribute2=~component1~

  • Or all synced objects for a specific connection can be set to a hard coded value: extensionattribute3=View1

Using this type of custom mapping, set one or more attributes as necessary. Then configure the Outlook ABVs to filter on those attributes to obtain the desired result.
