UnitySync logging

Each UnitySync connection automatically creates a log file generated at Log File level 2-Lowest. Logs are simple text files that record information about each connection run. Level 2 log files contain general information on Adds/Modifies/Deletes and any Errors that occur. Logs are accessible from the User Interface (UI) and can also be found in the connection’s directory:

...\UnitySync\Connections\YourConnectionName\Log

Optionally, for testing or troubleshooting, you may want to increase the Log File level to 3-Detailed. The Log File level setting is on the connection’s General tab. This increased Log File level will provide much more detailed information about the Source data being read and the Destination data being written.

You’ll notice that you can also set Log File levels of 4-Verbose or 5-Debug. The logs produced by these levels are very large and usually overkill for basic troubleshooting. If your support technician wants to see logs with this level of detail, they will specifically request it.

Additionally, you can set a Log File level of 1-None. We do not recommend using this setting.

UnitySync Notifications

Notifications are not enabled unless you configure them. To use Notifications, you’ll need to enable the feature via Global SMTP. Access Global SMTP settings via the button in the upper right corner of the UnitySync User Interface (UI). Here you must define an SMTP Server and Reply address. You may enable Notifications for all connections globally by adding email addresses in this global configuration. Additionally, you may configure and enable Notifications for individual connections on each connection’s Email Notify tab.

These and other UnitySync features and functions are detailed in the UnitySync Administrator’s Guide.
